The 31st Annual Home Garden Competition by the Botanical Society of Goa (BSG) will be held in January 2023.
The competition has 3 categories:
ON GROUND: This category should have ornamental plants, vegetables, herbs or fruits
ON TERRACE/BALCONY: This should have ornamental plants, vegetables, herbs or fruits
KITCHEN GARDEN: Plants should be grown using organic practices
COMPETITION RULES:
Participants should send photos/videos of their gardens via e-mail to botanicalsocietyofgoa@gmail.com
The e-mail should contain the participant’s name, location, contact no. and brief details about the garden.
The judges will rate each garden, based on aesthetics, variety of plants, condition of the garden/plants, tidiness, innovation, unique features etc.
Participants will be shortlisted, and personal visits will be conducted on January 8, 2022 and January 15, 2023.
There will be 3 winners in each category, and they will be awarded certificates and cash prizes.
The last date to receive entries is January 4, 2023.
The competition is open to all residents of Goa, as well as schools and institutions.

The aim of the BSG’s annual home garden competition is to encourage gardeners and showcase their beautiful gardens. Over the years, not only have they received recognition, but gardeners have also taken up sustainable and organic gardening habits.
