Any festival is incomplete without food. Onam, a festival synonymous with the State of Kerala, is one such event which has all the trappings of a gastronomical delight.

If you want to experience Kerala on your plate, then head to the ongoing Aikyam Onam Festival at the Holiday Inn, Candolim. This festival takes guests on a culinary journey infused with delightful flavors, unveiling the essence of this festive season.

Onam special thali with over 10 different dishes.

The Aikyam Onam Festival aims to not only bring flavours to your food plate, but creates an atmosphere of oneness, unity and harmony. At the Aikyam, the flavours of Kerala can be found in the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis.

The vegetarian food is served on banana leaf and has some of the most delectable food items that are close to the hearts of Keralites like the rasam, curd rice, lemon rice, chicken, banana and pumpkin chips, etc.

Missed the festival of Onam? Don't worry you can still experience Kerala on your plate at Aikyam Onam Festival.

The very first bite of the of the Kerala matta rice with rasam is a reminder of South Indian cuisine as the rasam flavours hit all senses straight. Prepared with tomato, tamarind juice, chili pepper, curry leaves, and other ingredients, the rasam served in the thali is simply like a soup of spice. It is an all-important dish that makes the South Indian food complete.

While the flavours of rasam sink in, go for the curd rice with pomegranates which is a perfect pairing.

Also, one can't forget the lemon rice, which has this tangy and nutty aroma and sprinkled with lentils, peanuts, spice and herbs. One can also try the poriyal which is perfectly sautéed.

Now, coming to the non non-vegetarian thali, it has in it the chicken Nadan Kozhi Curry and fried fish. The chicken gravy, with all its masala flavours, will tickle your taste buds. Also, the fried fish is delicious, as it is nicely wrapped in banana leaf while cooking. Every bite of it has the masala taste which is simply authentic.

The dishes are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and many of them are infused with the flavors of Kerala, such as coconut, curry leaves, and turmeric.

Gorging on the Onam food with its authentic South Indian flavors is like taking a trip down memory lane. The sweet dish is the icing on the cake, and it truly is a culinary delight. You will come back saying wow!
