A vibrant culinary journey in celebration of Durga Puja is on at DoubleTree by Hilton Goa – Panaji till October 13, 2024. At the four-day event, the hotel is showcasing the tradition of Bhog, offering a menu that features Khichuri, Labra, chutney, Payesh and an array of mishti, all in honour of Goddess Durga.
The event not only reflects the rich cultural heritage of the festival, but also fosters a sense of community as people come together to enjoy the offerings.
As the goddess and her four children are welcomed into the hearts and homes of many, guests are encouraged to join in the celebrations and savour the flavours of tradition.
Double Tree by Hilton has specially brought in Chef Ajanta Burman to host this special experience.
“Every state has a different menu, and the research I put in helped me learn more and become an expert. Thanks to my research, today I am very well versed with Bihari, Himachali, Rajasthani, Maharashtrian and Assamese cuisine. I also cook Andhra and Kerala food," says the chef.
Apart from this specially curated experience at the restaurant, she has also given guests a taste of Bengali food at her home.
“I have hosted people for Bengali food at home. I am very happy to serve Bangla food for people in Goa and all over India. We have a variety of dishes and every dish tells a story,” she explains.
At the ‘Bangla Bhog,’ guests will have the opportunity to savour a delightful array of dishes, including Gondhoraj Lebu Soup, Chonak Paturi, Paneer Paturi, Ol Sheddo and the sweet delight of Bhapa Shondesh and Langcha.
