The United Goan Photographers and Videographers Association organised a two-day photography workshop for the students of the DM’s Kushe HSS, Assagao, Goa, on the 23rd and 24th of September 2022.
The principal of the college Shri Devendra Kenavedekar encouraged the students to acquire knowledge in the field of photography. Shri Kenavedekar welcomed the members of the United Goan Photographers and Videographers Association and thanked them for the trouble they had taken to educate the students in the art of photography.
The NSS convenor Prashanti Mandrekar greeted the resource persons of the UGPVA and also encouraged the students to take advantage of the workshop in framing their careers. In her speech, Mandrekar said her NSS unit was indeed privileged to have a workshop of this magnitude.
Oscar das Chagas e Silva, President of the United Goan Photographers and Videographers Association, in his motivational address asked the students to follow their passion. He briefed the students on the various aspects of the trade of photography and how they could convert a hobby into a profession.
Denis Pinho then gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation to the students, explaining the rules and parameters of becoming a good photographer. Xec Mahamad Maim then explained the triangle of ISO, shutter speed and aperture, and the basic concepts needed to operate DSLR cameras. The students then broke up into groups, and one member each explained to the students how to click photographs using DSLR cameras.
The next day saw the students going again in groups and exploring outdoor photography. Students modelled for their colleagues while they took pictures of them. Then an indoor photoshoot was taken up with the students again modelling for the cameras.
The pictures clicked were edited during an editing session taken up by Mr Denis Pinho. Students were taught the various features of editing and enhancing their photographs.

Participation certificates were distributed to the 125 students that participated in the workshop along with their teachers.
