Interesting storylines, creative songs and lively performances make tiatrs – a traditional form of drama, seen in Goa – entertaining to watch. Next week, tiatr fans will get to enjoy 8 days of tiatr shows in Panjim at the annual competition organised by Kala Academy.
The 9th Tiatr ‘B’ Group Competition of Kala Academy will be held from January 22, 2024 to January 31, 2024 at Kala Academy, Panjim, which means that there will be no shortage of entertainment, and no dearth of talent.
This year’s competition will see participation by 8 tiatr groups. The schedule of performances will be as follows:

Tiatr, Amdhar Porjecho Kamdhar, by Flory Fernandes, will be presented by Quitula Sports & Cultural Club, Aldona, after the inaugural function.

Tiatr, Hunvar, by Marcos Gonsalaves, will be presented by Barebhat Social & Cultural Association, Raia, Salcete.

Basilio Art & Cultural Association, Siolim, Bardez, will stage Basilio B Carvalho’s Tiatr, Bhogxitolo.

The concluding show, Maka Salvar Kor, by Carmo JS Pacheco will be staged by Pacheco’s Dramatic & Cultural Association, Curtorim, Salcete on January 31, 2024.
The 9th Tiatr ‘B’ Group Competition will be held from January 22, 2024 to January 31, 2024 at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, Panjim, daily at 7.00 pm. Tickets are priced at ₹ 50 and are available at Kala Academy.
