Goa may be a small state in the corner of the world, but that doesn’t mean we don’t live king-size and go all out when celebratory bells ring. Be it through cuisine, art or music, Goa connects with the world like a Bluetooth and a wireless phone.

While Goans are all set to celebrate yet another year of the Goa Carnival, the tourists are reeling into the state to make it to Goa before the big celebrations.

Music, good food and unmatched energy at the Goa Carnival is a given as the Carnival shows promise of a good time and dancing to the tunes of live bands that going to perform at the Samba Square in Panjim.

The dates of the Goa Carnival will be from February 10 to 13, 2024. The route for the Panjim Carnival parade will be from Patto to Kala Academy, the same route used all these years.

“Another special occasion that we are celebrating this year is the anniversary of Franciso Martins who will be honoured for celebrating his 50th year of designing floats that have been recognised nationally and internationally,” said Rohit Monserrate, Mayor, Corporation of the city of Panaji (CCP).

As for the Samba Square, which is annually held at the Jardim Garcia de Orta on the same dates as the Carnival, it will witness music and dancing with top bands in attendance and will culminate with the traditional Red and Black dance by Clube National.

The parade will be headed by the float from the Goa Tourism Department which will be followed by the CCP float and others. The CCP is accepting applications from January 31, 2024 to February 5, 2024.

While there is no doubt that the Carnival will be all colourful, the Mayor's promise of smooth traffic flow during the Carnival parade has no colour, given that every corner of the capital city is dug up for Smart City works.
