Remembering legendary writer, Arthur Conan Doyle, through film in Goa

Three short films will be screened in Panjim on the occasion of the death anniversary of the creator of Sherlock Holmes

In commemoration of the death anniversary of the legendary Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, the Cinephile Film Club, Goa, will screen three short telefilms on June 22, 2023 at Maquinez Palace, Panjim.

The role of Sherlock Holmes, the super popular fictional detective, is played by Jeremy Brett in this series of films, which was produced between 1984 and 1994, and are considered the best and most accurate representation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories.

Film critic and member of the Sherlock Holmes Society, Sachin Chatte, will present the films.

The films to be screened are:

 

The Adventure of the Second Stain

In this story of murder, mystery and espionage, the Prime Minister of England asks Sherlock Holmes to locate a missing document, which has the potential to lead to a war.

DURATION: 51 mins

The Adventure of the Priory School

The 10-year-old son of a rich Duke goes missing from school, and Sherlock Holmes is asked  to solve the mystery.

DURATION: 52 mins

The Adventure of the Dancing Men

In this innovative story by Arthur Conan Doyle, a man seeks Sherlock Holmes’ expertise to solve the mystery of why his wife is so disturbed by a bunch of silly drawings of dancing men.
