Promoting inclusivity, Purple Fest started in Goa on January 6, 2023. Although registration charges for delegates was ₹1000, registration for Goan delegates and students with disabilities was free of cost.
The festival was inaugurated on a grand scale by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and other dignitaries present at the venue.
A car rally for visually impaired persons was held on day 2 of the fest. The event was graced by celebrity actress Pooja Bedi.
Artwork by persons with disabilites (PwD) is being displayed at the Art Gallery and Art Garden at the Entertainment Society of Goa, which is the main venue of the festival.
Waiting for their turn to shine - the dancers were dressed in traditional and different costumes in sync with their performance for the day.
Several school students attended the function and keenly watched the performances that took place on the Purple Fest stage.
