The Museum of Christian Art, Old Goa, is organising a heritage walk from St Cajetan’s Church (Our Lady of Divine Providence), Old Goa, on July 29, 2023.

Clive Figueiredo and architect Noah Fernandes will take visitors on a tour of St Cajetan’s Church, St Pius X Pastoral Institute and the Divine Providence Museum in Old Goa. They will share fascinating insights into the history of the Theatine order in Goa as well as the Church and Convent built by them, which are among the most exquisite monuments seen in Goa.

St Cajetan's Church, also known as the Church of Divine Providence, was built in 1661 and is part of the World Heritage Site, Churches and Convents of Goa.

The church is largely believed to be modelled on St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, while 17th century travellers, Giovanni Gemelli Careri and Pietro Della Valle liken it to the Sant'Andrea della Valle, which is the seat of the Theatine order.
