1. DASYA FAMILY FLEA

HIGHLIGHTS: Handmade and homemade items, lovely music, local vendors, a great place for a family outing
This market is the brainchild of Fr Gregory Noronha, and aims to give a platform to entrepreneurs who want to showcase their products, but don’t have an outlet, or store, of their own. This market is organized by Katja Grew, originally from Denmark, and residing in Goa for the last 29 years. She also curates the Goa Collective Bazaar, Vagator.

2. THE GOA COLLECTIVE BAZAAR
DATE: Every Friday
VENUE: Hilltop, Vagator
TIMINGS: 5 pm to 2 am
HIGHLIGHTS: Food, clothes, face painting, accessories, kids’ corner, unique fashion and craft, brands, live music, DJs, cocktail bar, ‘healing’ area

3. CHRISTMAS POP UP SALE
DATE: December 19, 2021
VENUE: COOJ Foundation, Bastora
TIMINGS: 11 am to 8 pm
HIGHLIGHTS: Food, pre-loved items, Christmas décor item, dreamcatchers, plants, paintings, games, dance and drawing competitions for kids, salad making competition for couples and fancy dress for kids and seniors. The event is a fundraiser for individuals with psychological difficulties. Clients at COOJ, who suffer from various psycho-social disabilities such as anxiety, OCD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, depression, motor issues, speech difficulties, dementia, etc prepare the Christmas décor which will be sold at the COOJ stall in addition to the other stalls.

4. EARTHKEEPERS MARKET
DATE: Every Friday, starting January 7, 2022
VENUE: The Rejuvenation Center, Candolim
TIMINGS: 4 pm to 6 pm
HIGHLIGHTS: Fresh organic vegetables, saplings, herbal supplements, natural body products, home products, bio-degradable products, etc. There is also a jumble sale counter where you can give away stuff and also find useful things for yourself at throwaway prices.
This market was started in 2015 by Daryl D’Souza, an engineer, holistic practitioner, farmer, environmentalist, ambassador of VeganNation, founder of Earth Keepers Connect, and convener of the New Earth Summit, in order to provide natural food and home products to people, as well as helping people connect with natural healers/therapists, and to build community awareness and togetherness through an exchange of knowledge and ideas about an organic way of life that promotes personal wellness and wellness in society.

5. Okapi’s Farmers market

HIGHLIGHTS: Eco-conscious household products such as kombucha, mitticool clay pots, organic groceries, bamboo brushes, soaps, steel straws, plants, spreads, and more.
This market is run by Mahi Baid and her business partner, Aarti Sinha, both of who run the Okapi Vegan Kitchen.

6. CURTORCHO MAAND
DATE: Monthly market, starting January 2022
TIMINGS: 9 am to 1 pm
VENUE: Near St Alex Church, Curtorim
HIGHLIGHTS: Homemade pickles, masalas, carpentry, handicrafts, crochet, bottle painting, etc
This market was started by a group of like-minded individuals with the support of parish priest Fr. Joseph Salema, from Curtorim, in order to strengthen the rural economy and help the vendors from Curtorim to showcase their products. The market began as a virtual market on social media and as the pandemic restrictions were relaxed, physical monthly markets began in September 2021. So far, three markets have been held. The market aims to encourage young entrepreneurs to sell their products during times of job loss, so as to rekindle bonds and preserve the integrity and traditions.
