Packing for Goa? Don’t forget to add these to your suitcase

We unpack the essentials or must-packs for you for an enjoyable and glitch-free trip to Goa

Katia Goes

The first step to packing a suitcase is owning one. And the second, knowing which of your many favourites will get the opportunity to travel with you on this vacation.

Of course, there are some things you can never leave behind no matter which part of the world you are visiting, but there are others that you must keep in mind when travelling someplace for the first time.

And if Goa is on your travel list, then we’ve got you sorted with some of your must-packs that you should bring to Goa for a seamless vacay.

1. Swimsuits

Goa is synonymous with sun and sea, and if you are a water baby waiting to run into the pool or the sea, then packing a swimsuit will not only save you the hassle of drying your cotton clothes but is also the ideal costume to wear when saying hello to a water body.

Apart from being the appropriate and hygienic way to go, it also comes with a refreshing side of picture-perfect photoshoots by the beach.

2. Documentation

This one goes without saying. Carrying valid identity proof whenever you’re travelling to a new place is one of the first things to add to your bag.

Of course, if you are travelling via flight, this is a given, but in case a spontaneous road trip brought you to Goa then make sure not to forget the important cards and papers in case of emergency.

3. Seasonal attire

People are always quick to associate Goa with the beach, and the beach with strappy, revealing clothing, but what they often don’t realise is that there is more to Goa beyond the beach and the importance of packing as per the time of the year that they plan on visiting.

Visiting Goa during the summer is hot and humid, and short pants, sundresses and cotton clothing always does the trick. PS: don’t forget the all-important sunscreen.

But if you are planning to visit during the monsoons, then the lovely embrace of the rainwater is something that you should keep in mind when packing. Carrying a raincoat and umbrella would be advisable.

Similarly, while Goa may not have super chilly winters, seeing locals put on their sweaters and jackets is a common sight especially early in the morning or late at night.

4. Appropriate footwear

Right from heels to flip flops, the right footwear can make or break the comfort level of your holiday.

If your Goa plans include trekking in the rains, then carrying along a comfortable pair of trekking shoes will make all the difference.

However, if there are no trekking plans in sight, then a pair of flip flops for the beach, a pair of flat shoes for the daytime and a pair of heels for dinner and drinks will do just the trick. Besides, there’s always extra baggage space for shoe shopping!

The next time you find yourself sitting on your suitcase and struggling to shut it tight, don't forget to squeeze in these tips and tricks, too!
