ABOUT THE MILLET CLUB
Millets are being increasingly recognised as climate-smart crops with enormous nutritional benefits, and India is one of the largest producers in Asia.
The Millet Club of Goa was formed by a group of millet enthusiasts in October 2022 ahead of the International Year of Millets in 2023. The aim of the club is to create awareness about millets, promote traditional and modern millet recipes, and encourage local farmers and communities to grow millets.
So far, the club has met twice and has received a good response from various professionals as well as the general public.
Dr Subbu Nayak, of Spandhan Healthcare & Green Ideas, is a public health practitioner, who does healthcare management, and is the driving force behind the ‘Millets & Mangoes’ event.
