What the Vedas signify, the benefits to humanity

BY DR PURUSHOTTAM RAJIMWALE

The Vedas are the oldest source of knowledge available to mankind. The word Veda is derived from the Sanskrit root “vid” which means “knowledge”.

The word “Veda” is supposed to mean pure knowledge. The Vedas are not considered books composed or written by any individual, that is, unlike other books or Vedas in general, they do not have an author or authors.

Soma Yag Yadnya, which has been organised by the Gomantak-Sakal group from February 5th to 10th, has its basis in the Vedas.

Unmani, of course, is the knowledge acquired by the sages of ancient times in a meditative state. The knowledge that was heard is the Vedas. That is why the Vedas are called Vangmya Srti Granth.

Rishimunis are not the authors of this book but are considered to be the seers of that knowledge. They reveal that this knowledge is received from the divine power that was instrumental in the actual creation.

This is the reason the Vedas are said to be Apaurusheya, meaning “not composed by humans”.

Ananta Vai Veda

There was knowledge even before creation. It is said in the Vedas that God brought forth creation based on knowledge, that is, the Vedas say that the entire creation, every element of it, is energetic and enlightened.

The original Vedas are written in Sanskrit, a language that has a cultured and well-structured vocabulary. Sanskrit is not the mother tongue of any region or community.

It is, however, called God's language because it is created by God. God revealed the knowledge of the Vedas to the sages in this ancient language.

The knowledge of the Vedas is believed to be infinite and unfathomable. Knowledge is not limited by time and direction. Therefore, it is difficult to say when knowledge originated.

It is for this reason that the Vedas are considered timeless and eternal. In ancient times, the entire Vedavad:maya was one. Maharishi Vyasa is said to have classified knowledge into categories.

From one original book, he compiled it into four volumes, namely RigvedaYajurvedaSamaveda and Arthavaveda. Maharishi Vyasa has divided Vedavad:maya into these four volumes to preserve this knowledge, making it easy to understand and spread it.

The speech for our welfare is the speech of dharma, to be heard by all – this is the order of the Vedas. Vedic knowledge is open to all, and no one has authority over it.

The Vedas are the storehouse of knowledge that show the way to the well-being of the entire world.

Paramasadguru Sri Gajanan Maharaj published the Panchasadhana Marg ie YajnaDonaTapaKarma and Swadhyaya in a simple manner to be understandable to the entire human society.

The entire knowledge of spirituality, religion and science is believed to be rooted in the Vedas. Indian spirituality and culture can be seen to have developed on the foundation of Vedic knowledge.

That is, the role of the Vedas is to pray that all creation may live their lives to the fullest with happiness, prosperity and peace. The Vedas have shown the path of truth and light to the entire world.
