Hyatt Centric brings a slice of Himalayas to the Goan shores

Can you imagine savouring a traditional Pahadi cuisine on the shores of Goa? Slurping the soupy Phaanu with steamed rice, relishing every bite of Katlambe with the savoury Chole or feeling like being in the misty Himalayan mountains as flavours of the leafy Kafuli fill your mouth.

Sounds a bit far-fetched? Well, it is not.

The ongoing ‘Himalayan Food Festival’ at the Hyatt Centric Candolim in Goa has brought the flavours and aromas from India’s mountains in North India to its western coast of Goa.

The delectable Phaanu, Katlambe and Kafuli may not be part of the Himalayan spread being put out by it but you’ll feel the Himalayan world, made famous by writer Ruskin Bond, in every bite of the cuisine at the festival.  

And, this slice of the Himalayan region will remain at the hotel till June 23 as it reverberates with its feel and sounds.  

The man who has made this possible is Hyatt Regency Dehradun’s Chef Robin Negi, whose culinary prowess and passion for the Himalayan cuisine will be at display at this festival.

The gourmet feast, which began on June 14, is being hosted at Grok, a multicuisine restaurant at the hotel, promises to be a gastronomical delight for food enthusiasts and cultural aficionados alike.

This journey of food and exotic flavours of Himalaya will be complimented with an entertaining performance of folk music, acquainting you to the vibrant culture of the Himalaya in Goa.

“The festival aims to provide a platform for cultural exchange and to introduce Goans and visitors to the distinctive culinary heritage of the Himalayas,” says a note issued by Hyatt Centric in Candolim.
